My Review
Oh, how I love Christmas books! Meet Me Under the Kissing Bough: A Christmas Romance Collection is a true delight! Each short story is set in Regency times and very much is family-centered. They all are well written and will put you in the Christmas spirit.
Meet Me under the Kissing Bough by Josi S. Kilpack is a sweet story of a widow looking for and finding love again. The roadblock in the relationship came down to societal norms and beliefs and family interference. Deborah had to find the strength to fight for her true love. I also loved all of the traditions that were played out at the house party.
Healing Hearts for the Holidays by Anneka R. Walker was a continuation of another short story that was found in a Christmas anthology, A Hopeful Christmas. I really liked this story and felt like I already was invested so much in both families. The main characters in this story were both so kind and giving that you couldn't help but love them. I loved the ending of this story the most.
A Christmas Correspondence by Sarah L.McConkie was most certainly inspired by Dickens A Christmas Carol. It was so hard at first to like the main character Caroline, who was clearly the 'Scrooge" in this story. Thank goodness for her witty Aunt Ebby and John Charleston, and his sweet sisters. They were there to guide Caroline and show her where true happiness comes from.It was good to see the changes in Caroline but she sure was nasty getting up to that point. It was a story that ended well too.
If you love Regency Romance and Christmas stories, this is the perfect book for you. These are three perfect stories of love, kindness, forgiving, and of course love. This would make the perfect December read and gift for the readers in your life.
