My Review

I have been a huge fan of this series ever since the first book. This series has some of the most gorgeous covers I've seen. The King and Queen of Oldenburg have eight very handsome and accomplished sons. In book three we finally get Prince Marc's story. He is loyal to his King and country to an overwhelming extent. His duty over the security of the country is number one in his life. 

Rhianna Davies's life has just been turned upside down at the death of her father. Her ruthless uncle kicks her out of her home and the lives of the people who have worked her father's mine. One day a prince shows up at her door to save her and her beloved servants. Prince Marc has also been sent to marry Rhianna. Neither one of them are thrilled to be told to marry someone they don't know and love. This is when the story takes off.

This novel is one with a slow-build romance, political intrigue involving Napoleon, Rhianna still fighting for her people in Wales, and Prince Marc trying to carry the world on his shoulders. I loved how bold, strong, and dedicated Rhianna was to those who surrounded her. Prince Marc was so conflicted about Rhi that his brothers needed to "convince" him that she was as wonderful as he already knew she was. The brothers are a lot of fun and so different. It's so great that there will be a book for each Oldenburg Prince.

Even though this book can be read as a stand-alone, don't do that to yourself. Get your hands on the first two books and read them first. Trust me on this, and you will get an even richer experience while reading A Tenuous Betrothal.

My Review

Facing the Enemy is a new contemporary romantic suspense novel by Author Paige Edwards. I love the setting of this novel in Scotland, just like Edward's previous romantic suspense novel, Danger on the Loch. Even though this book is said to be a stand-alone novel, there are characters that we met in Danger on the Loch. I loved this aspect and felt like we already knew the many characters in Facing the Enemy. 

The main characters have lived exciting lives as M16 agents. Elise and Harry have known each other since they were teenagers. Their early romance was nixed by Elise's parents who are Scottish Royalty. Now years later after being M16 partners, they're still in love but didn't realize it until danger and turmoil enter their lives. Even with the many setbacks that Elise had, Harry was still there to encourage her. I really loved Harry's son Sammy and how he brought out certain things in Elise that she hadn't allowed herself to feel before. 

This very suspenseful novel and its unquestionable, crazy bad guy, will keep you on the edge of your seat. The ending of the novel is harrowing and must be read in one sitting; trust me on this. The romance is clean and gut-wrenching at the same time. Thankfully, a certain person realizes they can't run from love. 

Facing the Enemy brings out a myriad of emotions that have many highs and lows. Truly though, this novel is worth the crazy and intense ride. You will want to take this ride for yourself by purchasing this novel today.

My Review

Danger Unknown was a very intense book where Brooke and her daughter, Izzy, are running from a murderer. You can feel the tension from Brooke as she is desperately trying to save herself and her daughter. This is great writing when you feel just as anxious as the characters. There are many unanswered questions that slowly are revealed as the novel moves along at a fast pace.

I really loved main character Michael, a vet with PTSD from his service in Iraq. He's now living the life of a cowboy in Montana raising therapy horses and boy does he fill those cowboy boots really well. His heart is big and he can't help but jump in to help Brooke and Izzy. Some of my favorite moments in the book were between Michael and Izzy, as he tries to help the young girl through a traumatic experience by introducing her to a special horse. I also want to give a shout out to Michael's friend Cap and his wife Little Bear Paw. They added a special touch to life in Montana and the beauty that is there. They both are pretty tough and pivotal to the story. 

There are so many things that make Danger Unknown a fabulous book. It's chock full of danger, suspense, action, a little romance, and enough quiet moments to give you a breather before something else crazy happens. I loved Danger Unknown! Author Kathi Oram Peterson has written another thriller that hooks you and doesn't release the reader until the very last page.

My Review: 
Can I tell you how much I love this cookbook? OK, I'm telling you now...I LOVE this cookbook!! There are so many things to love about this book and there are so many reasons to buy a copy for yourself. 

-There are 52 menu plans included in this book. The beauty of this is that you can mix and match them and then have even more than 52 menu plans by the time you are done. 
-The layout of this cookbook is user friendly. My sister-in-law Lynne and I were looking through the book and we both said the layout is easy to see what ingredients are needed. Some times you have to search, but not here, it is in bold crisp print.
-Recipes That Are Uncomplicated: The recipes included in the cookbook are easy to make. With women so busy these days we don't have time to throw together complicated dinners. We need fast and easy dinners to put together for our busy families.
-Inclusion of Crafts, Traditions and More:
These things were a happy bonus along with all of the fabulous recipes. Here are some of the exciting things you will find in the cookbook.

• 52 Family Dinner Conversation Starters
• 52 Weeks of Food Storage
• The Six Sisters' Pantry Staples=They list all of the ingredients that you will need to make the recipes found in this book.

He pulled his hand out of his pocket and handed me a folded sheet of paper. I took it from him, slowly uncurling the edges until I held a full-size page, half of it taken up with a picture of me. “If you want my honest opinion, Kate, I think you should leave here—the sooner the better. Maybe even leave the country.”
“What? I can’t leave. They have my address!”
“That’s exactly why you need to leave—try to cover up your tracks.” Clyde shrugged helplessly. “I don’t know what to tell you. But you can’t stay here, Kate. For that amount of money . . . Every Demon in the state is going to be trying his best to get at you. The Guardians can’t protect you from that kind of attack. Your enemies are too many.”
“But what can I do? My friends, my family . . . They’re all in danger. Even if I leave, I can’t bring everyone I love with me.”
Clyde’s face was calmly serious. “They’re not going to rest until they have you, Kate. That’s the Demon Lord’s style.”


My Review: 
I have loved the Seers trilogy so far. It has been one surprise after another. The 2nd book in the series left you hanging, screaming, and dying to know what happens in the 3rd book. Guardians takes up right where Demons left off. Kate has the whole Demon world after her per request of The Demon Lord and a hefty ransom. Patrick is trying his best to guard the woman he loves. I loved how the characters are fleshed out even more in this last book. Heather is very good at characterization. She really knows how to write memorable characters. You can't help but be drawn into the lives of the Seers and Guardians that Heather writes.

The action is good again in this novel. The first part of the book moves a little slower as the book goes into what happened previously. Things pick up half way through and doesn't stop. Once Kate starts teaching the other Seers about time travel the story speeds along. Of course I loved this aspect the most about this book. It was also fun to meet all of the new Seers introduced in the third book.

I have to say that I really loved how this series ended. There were SO many surprises! I truly could not have guessed on the outcome. I also loved the epilogue. Some epilogues are better than others, and this one ranks right up there with my favorites. I will miss this series and the characters. I can't wait to see what else Heather Frost writes. She is an amazing writer that knows how to produce a great story. If you haven't read this series yet I highly recommend that you do.
