My Review
So I first read Fourth Wing during the Summer. I was going to write up my review but I had so many questions. After all, on my first reading of this book, I read half the book for six hours straight from 12:00 midnight until 6:00 a.m. I knew I needed another read-through of the book. This time I listened to the audio version. I couldn't believe how much more I picked up in that second "Read-Through".
The world has been waiting for a book to be "The Book" that the world couldn't wait to buy and read. The first thing that I loved was this book was a fantasy and dragons were a huge part of the storyline. I love dragons! That was the thing that initially was the draw for me to Fourth Wing. I love the dragons in this book and their personalities. I almost like them more than some of the human characters!
I loved the characters. Yarros does a great job of developing her characters, the good and the bad humans. I felt even more strongly about this as I listened to the audiobook. Of course, I learned to love Violet and her determination to succeed against all odds. Xaden, well, he is Xaden. I know we have only touched the surface in getting to know him. I'm so glad that I'll have Iron Flame in my hands in a few days.
For those who haven't read Fourth Wing yet, please do it! I know the majority of the people who have read this novel love it. I'm in the camp of trying not to be too obsessed with the book, its characters, and the whole world of Basgiath War College. There were many unanswered questions at the end of this first book. I hope some of them are answered in Iron Flame. I also hope I get some sleep this week as I know it will be torture putting the Iron Flame down.
