"F" is for ?????

I asked my 9 year old son what I should blog about today that starts with the letter "F". He started to list off several words...
-feet
-foo
-fish
-food
-freckle
-fantasy
-fun

He went on for about 10 more minutes. Nothing was making me want to run to my keyboard and get typing. Then something amazingly came to me, "F" is for Forgetful. There are so many days when I think that I am losing my mind. You may know what I am talking about, you walk into the room to get something, you look around and do not have a clue why you are there. I thought that this was only supposed to happen to people over 65? What is going on?

I found this joke that I love...

Three old ladies sit in a diner, discussing their health.

One lady says, "You know, I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down."

The second lady says, "You think that's bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn't remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!"

The third lady smiles smugly. "Well, my memory is just as good as it's always been, knock on wood," she says as she raps on the table. Then with a startled look on her face, she asks, "Who's there?"

Yes, these are the moments I am talking about. I keep thinking I have been forgetful because of my busy life. Maybe there is too much rattling around in my brain? At least I haven't been like this forgetful parent that left their child in a cart at Walmart. Here is what the caption said by the picture:

"What? I forget stuff in my cart all the time….usually it’s a case of water or Pepsi underneath my cart and not a child, but if the kid is really quiet or something I can see how you would FORGET YOU CHILD IN THE CART…..ahhh stop worrying, all the mother has to do is return with her receipt and they will replace it."

Here's to more remembering being done and less forgetting why we are here.Where is here? Why did I just type that? What was I saying? Oh, it probably wasn't important anyway.

  1. At first I couldn't tell what I was looking at in that picture. Then I read the caption and my mouth dropped to the floor. I can't believe that!!!

  2. You have to love Wal-Mart shoppers. Only the best and brightest shop there. Not sure what that says about me since I use to work there when I was a teenager but we all do silly things as teens.

  3. Your joke made me laugh out loud! That was so dang funny! As far as being forgetful, you may have ADD. I was just diagnosed this January. It sure explains a lot! My life could have been so different. Oh well. It is what it is. Think about it though. There are 6 types of ADD. Not all have the hyper piece.

  4. Or in my case, it could just be old age. I do take exception to being 58 and being so forgetful. I do take care of 2 grandchildren under 3 and VT, am RS secretary, have 3 families living in the same house with me...OR it could be ADD. But forget my child in a shopping cart-NEVER! Love your blog.
