Book Summary
A false engagement. A mysterious coast. Two reluctant hearts.
Much to her father’s dismay, Miss Amelia Buxton aspires to become a spinster, just like her eccentric aunt. Growing up with parents who married for every reason but love, she has never seen a joyful marriage. When Amelia requests a summer trip to the legendary waters of Brighton, her father allows her the excursion, but with one requirement: she must return engaged, or agree to the proposal of the man of his choosing.
Crawling with tourists, Brighton is not the town Adam Claridge had once loved. When his sister Eleanor disappears without warning, Adam is desperate to bring her home. In his search, he happens upon Miss Amelia Buxton, a young tourist that proves vital in his search for Eleanor. But Amelia is conducting a search of her
own—a search for a husband—and Adam has little choice but to offer a fair trade: he will play the role of Amelia’s betrothed in exchange for her assistance in finding Eleanor.
Convenient at first, Amelia and Adam’s arrangement quickly plummets into disarray. Falling in love had not been part of their bargain.

My Review
This was a very fun book to read. Not only did it have humor, great banter between many of the characters, romance, but also a mystery of a missing young lady. The story hops along at a great pace and keeps you wondering about the outcome of whether the main character Amelia will find a prospective husband in time and whether Adam can find his missing sister. The interaction between Amelia and Adam is fiery from the start. I really liked how as the story went along, the two main characters are drawn together in an unseen partnership that soon develops into something more. This romance is clean, witty, and just enough angst to keep you reading until late into the night. This is a great start to a new series and I'm excited to read more.

"This story was so much fun. I don’t think I’ve written characters
that have been so vivid in my mind, or a plot that has come so quickly
to my imagination. This story was begging to be told, and didn’t give me
writer’s block like my stories have done. Ha That was a pleasant surprise! So far this new series has four books, but who knows? Maybe there will be more. I love writing books that have characters in common. I love to revisit characters from past books and get to know new characters from different points of view. That’s what makes this series so much fun!"
