Patricia PacJac Carroll~ I am a writer, Christian
first, and blessed beyond my imagination. I live in the Dallas-Ft Worth area of
Texas with my wonderful treasure of a husband, my spoiled dog, Jacs, and my
awesome son, Josh. Did I say I was blessed? The PacJac is from my initials and my
husbands. I wouldn't be able to write if it weren't for him. I love adventure
and the open road. The stories of the western era have always been a favorite
of mine. I enjoy writing, and my goal is to write stories readers will enjoy.

He’s vowed not to marry

and nothing is going to stop her especially her love for Zeb.
Q&A with the Author
1. Tell us about things you enjoy — what
you do for fun or personal satisfaction besides writing? I love to go out and
eat with my friends and hubby of course. I enjoy people.
2. When did you first realize you were an
author? I started writing letters to the editor, but in the back of my mind, I
always thought it would be cool to write a novel. Back in the day when I was in
high school, we only read books by authors long dead – so it wasn’t like
something to look to for a career. I’m thankful the Lord put it in me to write
later. Computers make it so much easier. I can’t even imagine trying to type
out a book and then edit it and retype it much less write by hand. I love
technology – when it works.
3. Have you done anything writing related,
but besides actually writing your books, that seemed to get a lot of positive
response? Something that encouraged you? I take road trips to areas of the
country where I have a story set. That helps me see what my characters would
see.
4. What is the thing you struggle with the
most while writing? And how do you defeat it? My total lack of discipline. It seems that my drive for fun overrides my
discipline gene.
5. What is the “message” of your writing?
(For example, is your purpose to encourage old fashioned values, encourage
romance, or do you have different purposes in different books?) While each book
may have a different “message” I desire for them all to bless readers and leave
them feeling warm and happy.
6. What are your thoughts/feelings on ebook
vs. print book? I love ebooks. No dust. No bookshelves. I can read them on my
phone so they are always with me.
7. How many books do you have out? Are you
planning a specific number altogether, either in this series or separately? Right
now, I have 22 books out and a long line of stories waiting in line in my
brain. Sometimes characters shove and shout their way to the front of the line,
too.
8. Are your characters/stories/scenes, etc.
based on anything in real life? I’m sure some things are. As writers we study
people and often warn others that whatever you do or tell just might end up in
a story. LOL
9. What are your future projects? I’m
working on The Judge’s Bride which is Book 1 of the Montana Brides of Solomon’s
Valley. I’m also working on #9 of my Mail Order Brides of Hickory Stick series
and then there is mayhem behind those two as the other stories jockey for
position.
