My Review

The Serial Killer in 8 Down is ruthless, obtaining pleasure from each kill and delighting in breaking others down. The corrupt antagonist remains a mystery, as he strikes unpredictably. Investigator Carrie Kintz leads her team in a frantic race to catch the killer before the next attack. Surrounded by chaos, Carrie finds love with Scott Patteson, a security expert assisting in the investigation. As they work against time to stop the killer, a romance blooms. Together, they decipher clues, including those hidden in the daily crossword puzzle at 8 Down, where the killer leaves his mark through cyber attacks that claim lives. 

8 Down is an engaging tale powerfully told by Carrie, Scott, and the cryptic killer whose mind is a frightening place to be.  Readers will be on edge trying to piece together the puzzle clues. The clues were running through my mind as I tried to fall asleep.

Even with 8 Down being part of a series, this standalone novel seamlessly blends in past events. The Alaskan backdrop, intense suspense, and captivating characters make for a riveting read that will keep readers enthralled until the final page.
