She is the only one who truly sees him.
Which makes her his greatest threat.
Black ops undercover agent Tane Temauri—code name Vapor—has made it his life’s mission to stay out of sight. Given the dangers inherent in his job, the last thing he can afford is to step into the open and become a target. Again.
Then a letter from a mysterious stranger changes everything. Although the letter was not meant for him, somehow, on a greater, cosmic scale, it feels as though it is.
But answering it will make Tane vulnerable.
Can he emerge from the shadows and risk everything for a woman he has never met?
If he does, more than his heart could be on the line.
So could his life.
And hers.
My Review
The book started with a bang...literally as Tane & his partner fight with Drug Dealers. Because of his partner, he "meets" Lia through letter writing. I really loved the inclusion of the letters written back and forth between Tane and Lia. Some of the most beautiful words written in the story were from these letters. Also, you could feel the two of them getting closer as they shared so much about themselves with each other. This provided so much character development. The more they shared, the more honest and open they became with each other and with themselves.
The suspense has ebbs and flows through the novel. It can't help being that way because the very beginning is terrifying and full of suspense. There's always that tone of dread wondering whether or not Tane and Lia will be found out by their enemies. Let's just say that there are surprising events that happen and not everything gets resolved in this book. Since this is the first book in a new series called, In the Shadows, I hope we find out more in book two.
This book is written for those who love a Christian Mystery-Suspense book. There is so much to love in this novel and I'm hooked on these characters now. The Color of Sky and Stone was a happy surprise along, with finding the new-to-me author Sara Davison. I can't wait to read more of her novels.
